Lönestrukturstatistik
Lönestrukturstatistik (wage structure statistics) is Sweden's official salary data. It is produced by Medlingsinstitutet with Statistics Sweden (SCB) as the data producer, and reports monthly salary by occupation, sector, sex, age and region.
What it measures
The figure is monthly salary converted to full time: fixed pay plus fixed supplements. Overtime and variable pay, such as bonus and commission, are not included. That makes the salary comparable between part-time and full-time work, but it can sit below what someone with a lot of overtime actually takes home. Bonus being left out is also why a pay offer should be compared to the statistics on its fixed salary, not including an uncertain bonus.
When it is updated
The statistics are published once a year, usually in June, covering the prior year. So the latest available figure always lags a little, but it is the most reliable picture there is of what an occupation actually pays in Sweden.
Where it shows up
- Evaluate a job offer
- Where Do I Stand
When you get a pay offer, look up the occupation's wage structure to see whether the offer is low, mid or high. An employer knows the statistics; now you do too.
